Your professional, qualified guide will tailor the experience, ensuring a personalized and enriching adventure through private excursions and activities, crafting memories to last a lifetime.
Your Moroccan adventure begins with a pick-up from Casablanca airport or your accommodation. Time permitting, we’ll glimpse the magnificent Hassan II Mosque (exterior). We then drive north to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital, to visit the Hassan Tower, an iconic minaret, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Afterwards, our journey continues towards Fes, with a potential stop in the Imperial city of Meknes, before arriving in Fes. Check into your traditional Riad for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, your expert local guide leads a full-day exploration of Fes el-Bali, the ancient walled Medina (a UNESCO World Heritage site). This immersive tour unveils the city’s rich history as you navigate its labyrinthine streets. Discover the Royal Palace gates, explore the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter), admire the intricate Medersas (Islamic schools), view the famous Tanneries from a terrace, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the traditional souks. Overnight at your Riad in Fes.
After an early breakfast (around 8:30 am departure), we journey south towards the Sahara Desert. Our route passes through Ifrane, nicknamed “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and the cedar forests near Azrou, home to Barbary macaques. We proceed towards Midelt, known for apples and minerals. Witness the changing landscapes as we travel through the picturesque Ziz Valley, famed for its vast palm groves and fortified ksars. Passing through Erfoud (fossil town) and Rissani, we finally arrive at Merzouga, gateway to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. Settle in for an overnight stay near the majestic dunes.
Today is dedicated to a captivating 4×4 exploration of the Erg Chebbi dunes. We’ll visit the seasonal Merzouga Lake (a potential flamingo habitat when full) and Khamlia village, to experience soulful Gnawa music. The adventure may include visits to abandoned colonial-era mines, panoramic viewpoints over an oasis, and a memorable encounter with a nomadic Berber family to learn about their traditional lifestyle. After the excursion (lunch included en route), return to the dunes’ edge to begin your camel trek into the heart of Erg Chebbi. Witness a stunning sunset over the sands before arriving at your desert camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars.
Wake early for the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes – a truly unforgettable experience. After breakfast at the camp, ride your camels (or take a 4×4) back to the dune line. We then depart for the Dades Valley. If it’s a market day (Sun, Tue, or Thu), we’ll explore Rissani’s bustling traditional souk. The journey continues via Erfoud (fossil town) and Jorf to the magnificent Todra Gorges. Here, you can walk between the towering canyon walls along the riverbed. From Todra, we drive to the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations, for an overnight stay in a hotel or kasbah.
After breakfast, we travel the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” through traditional Berber villages. Our route winds through the lush Skoura Oasis, renowned for its palm groves and historic kasbahs like Kasbah Amerhidil. Continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” to visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah (a visit to Atlas Film Studios may also be possible). The journey then leads to the famed Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and backdrop for films like “Gladiator” and “Game of Thrones.” After exploring, we begin the scenic drive to Marrakech, crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260m), enjoying panoramic views. Arrive in Marrakech and check into your accommodation.
After breakfast (around 9:00 am), meet your local guide for a captivating tour of Marrakech, the vibrant “Red City.” Your exploration will focus on the historical Medina and its iconic landmarks. Discover the Koutoubia Mosque (exterior), the Saadian Tombs, and the opulent Bahia Palace. Immerse yourself in the electric atmosphere of Djemaa el Fna square and navigate the bustling souks. Depending on your tour’s specifics, you might also visit the enchanting Majorelle Garden or the historic Menara Gardens. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
Your Moroccan adventure concludes today. After breakfast, and in accordance with your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to Marrakech Menara Airport for your departure.
